Since our Mlada passed away, we re-did the blood tests on our most critical kitties and unfortunately, we had to add 6 more kitties to our roster of kitties with kidney disease.

Our list is now very long and consists of the following additions: Juta, Luka, Aca, Makan, Marta and Sredoje. This is 13 kitties in total.

It is not easy carrying for all these sick cats. Our most critical ones are Marta and Petrica.

Since our last update, Marta did improve a bit. She is eating better but is still not putting the weight on. Her last blood test did show that she has elevated globulin concentrations (one of the major groups of proteins in the blood) as well as elevated liver enzymes (eg, ALT, ALP). Marta is a high-risk FIP cat and these changes might suggest that she might be developing FIP. We will monitor her closely. She is receiving immunity boosters, wet food only and SQ fluids every day.

Petricaon the other hand, has been extremely uncooperative when it comes to SQ fluids and we have to take her to the vet in order for her to get her therapy. She lost some weight but is still running around and eating well.

Our lovely Juta had her blood test done that showed increase in creatine and urea and the vet suspected acute kidney disease. She has been prescribed the fluids every day until the next blood test.

Juta had also a tooth extraction surgery. She is recovering well and is back with her roommates.
