For this reason, TNR – Trap, Neuter, Return) is the most humane and sustainable method of controlling the free-roaming cat population.
How we work
Following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, a large number of cats ended up on the streets. Since we were unable to provide shelter for every animal, we launched a campaign to neuter stray cats.
In cooperation with several veterinary clinics, we have secured reduced prices for the procedures:
Spaying a female cat, including several days of postoperative care: 26 Euros
Neutering a male cat: 18 Euros
We have created a network of volunteers and community cat caregivers who safely trap the cats, take them to the veterinary clinic, look after them during recovery, and return them to the location where they were found.
Every neutered cat is entered into our records. The database includes the cat’s name, photographs, identification number, the location where it was found and returned, and the name of the volunteer or caregiver involved in the process.
