Last week we were at the vet as Tara and Manja have been sneezing and feeling unwell. After the vet’s checkup and x-rays of their lungs and blood tests, Manja was diagnosed with asthma and Tara with pneumonia. Tara is receiving Synulox via via pills for the next 10 days. We also did their blood work and FIV/FeLV test (both negative).
Our lovely Robi and Astra both got an eye infection. They are both receiving antibiotics, and we took them to the vet for a full blood test, FIV/FeLV test (both negative) and FIP test (shows high-risk for FIP). They are both in quarantine, receiving special food, immunity busters and medicine.
Mlada (our cat with chronic kidney failure) is again in a really bad shape. She only wanted to eat cat treats up until a few days ago and now, she only licks probiotic souses and a bite or two of kibbles. Her kidney are slowly shutting down and although we are giving her SQ fluids 2 times a day, she is not improving. She is still active but we know it will not be for too long.
Beside Mlada, in our quarantine, we have our 10 years old Marta. She has been loosing weight rapidly and is put in quarantine on special food and immunity busters. We did her blood test and her results were not good - she has elevated globulin concentrations (one of the major groups of proteins in the blood) as well as elevated liver enzymes (eg, ALT, ALP). Marta is a high-risk FIP cat and these changes might suggest that she might be developing FIP. We will monitor her closely.
At the moment, we are fully on our construction of a new wall for a new room for our kitties. We hope to finish by the end of the month.
