Over three years ago a small kitten fell, or was thrown, into the stairs of „House of military“ of Republic of Serbia or „House of JNA“, how it was once called, Jana got her name after it.
Kitten Jana lived in the space under the stairs for almost 2 years. She was fed by random citizens, that threw some food between the gaps and Ms. Gordana, who works in the library of the „House of military“. The link between the space under the stairs and the library is a small canal for various cables.
The only human, to whom Jana had contact (the random citizens not included) is Ms. Gordana and with cats and other animals, except mice and rats, she had no contact at all – that is why her situation is specific and delicate.
We are looking for an appropriate owner, an experienced cat expert who would have a lot of understanding and patience for her and of course a lot of love, so she would learn how to live in the outside world.
Jana was rescued on April 27th 2012 by the Association for the protection of animal and development of public awareness "Feniks" (www.feniks.org.rs). The same association took Jana to the vet, she was sterilised. They also look after her after the surgery and on may 5th 2012 she was brought to the shelter "Jessica", Association "Help animals", where she lives today.
After a long period of rehabilitation and adaptation, she had shown her real character: she is careful, eager for attention and cuddle, gets along with other cats.
Jana is tortoiseshell with an unusual spot on the right side of her mouth. She has green eyes. She is very cooperative. Tested negative for FIV and FeLV.
It would be nice if Jana would spend the rest of her life in a safe place, where she would be loved and taken care of.
